Tony,
I really appreciate you assisting me with this issue. I have the following for clarification:
1. Client laptop is running Windows 7 SP1 64 bit and has 32-bit Office 2013 installed (I have also tried this from Windows 8 64-bit with Office 2013 32-bit installed) Lync VDI plugin is 32-bit
On the VM side, I have the following pools to try, but none work:
Windows 7 64-bit with Office 2013 64-bit
Windows 8 64-bit with Office 2013 32-bit
I have not tried a 32-bit VM with Office 2013 32-bit yet, because the VMware documentation doesn't mention bit-ness as an issue, like MS requires with RDP Also, I am using PCoIP, but RDP does not work either.
2. I have imported the Public CA as well as the internal signed certificate from the FE server and added it to the Trusted Root Certificate list
3. I have made the appropriate registry settings. I can hit the sip.domain.com address from my laptop, as I have the Lync 2013 client installed locally as well. You post did remind me to make sure Lync was not running locally. I killed all Lync client processes locally before logging back into Horizon View, but that made no difference.
4. USB is indeed not redirecting. If I DO redirect, I can get audio and video in Lync, but its terrible as it would be routing directly through the Security and Connection Servers.
5. I have made sure the time between all my servers in the cloud, as well as my laptop are in sync.
